Savage Woods: [USA]

Savage Woods is a Hip Hop and Dance Recording Artist born and raised in Compton.
Heavily influenced by lyricists in the 90’s and 2000’s, Savage began his love for rap in 6th grade where he got kicked out of class for writing a very non age appropriate rhyme. He began writing verses in 7th grade where he knew rap was his calling, but in high school, he became unsure.
He started off as a drummer, from ages 1-8, taught exclusively by his dad, ReggieSr. He went on to play trumpet in 7th grade and he began writing rhymes. As aforementioned, he was inconsistent in high school due to lack of confidence.

In college, @composer_pb made it to radio on Power 106, which was the biggest hip hop station in LA at the time. Savage was motivated, inspired and compelled to return to music because of this and he began rapping seriously. He also embarked on his journey to become a producer.
He produced 3 artist projects for him and PB the Composer. (2015-2017) From selling beats one the internet from 2017 to pushing himself as an artist again in 2020, Savage had an epiphany when he got an opportunity to make beats in another genre in hopes to make a huge dance album. He realized he had boxed himself in and worried far too much about others opinions... That’s when he began doing dance instrumentals and songs, alongside his laid back, lyrical boom Bap. He’s different and he lets it be known. Tap in with Savage Woods and watch the whole world catch the vibe.

CHRIS JASPER [USA]
INTRODUCTION
If you are familiar with THE ISLEY BROTHERS, then you know Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, CHRIS JASPER, an integral member of THE ISLEY BROTHERS during the 1970s and 1980s—their gold and platinum years—from the 3+3 (1973) to Between the Sheets (1983) albums. These were the years when THE ISLEY BROTHERS were a self-produced, self-contained group. If you are familiar with THE ISLEY BROTHERS, then you have heard the music of CHRIS JASPER, who was primarily responsible for writing, arranging and producing all of THE ISLEY BROTHERS music during this time, including such beautiful love songs as “For The Love of You” and “Between the Sheets” and uptempo funk such as “Fight the Power.” His arrangements and instrumentation as a classically-trained musician, and his expertise on the keyboards and synthesizers, are the foundation of the legendary “Isley Brothers Sound.” When the six members of THE ISLEY BROTHERS disbanded (1984), Marvin and Ernie Isley joined CHRIS JASPER and formed ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY. Without this crucial musical component, THE ISLEY BROTHERS were no longer a self-produced, self-contained group. CHRIS JASPER brought his “unique sound” and musical talents to ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY, and topped the charts singing lead vocals on “Caravan of Love” (1985), a song that was covered by English recording group, the Housemartins, an international #1 pop hit. “Caravan” was also used in commercials as part of a Dodge Caravan advertising campaign. He was also awarded a CEBA Award For Excellence for a Miller Brewing Company commercial. The music for that commercial formed the basis for “Brother to Brother” from the “Different Drummer” album, which supported the anti-apartheid struggle going on in South Africa at that time. His music has also been used in radio and television commercials, including “Who’sThat Lady” (Swiffer) and “Between The Sheets” (L’Oreal).
When ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY disbanded (1987), CHRIS JASPER brought his “unique sound” to his own solo projects, topping the charts with “SuperBad,” a song promoting the value of education. CHRIS JASPER has continued to write songs and produce his own R&B and Gospel music, as well as other artists, for his independent record label, Gold City Records. CHRIS JASPER’s music has been covered and sampled by hundreds of new and established recording artists, including Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Fantasia, Will Smith, Alliyah, Queen Latifah, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Natalie Cole, Jaheim, Kendrick Lamar, and the list goes on and on. His music has also been used in many movie and television soundtracks. In 1992, CHRIS JASPER, along with the other members of THE ISLEY BROTHERS, was inducted into the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME and in 2014, received a GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION
Chris Jasper was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 30, 1951, the youngest of seven siblings. While growing up in Cincinnati, Chris studied classical piano starting at the age of 7 years old. After graduating from high school in Cincinnati, he moved to New York to study music composition at the Juilliard School of Music. Chris received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in music composition from C.W. Post College in New York, where he studied under noted jazz pianist and composer, Dr. Billy Taylor. He subsequently received a Juris Doctorate degree from Concord University School of Law.

THE JASPER/ISLEY CONNECTION
The Jasper and Isley families lived in the same apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio. Chris’s older sister, Elaine, married Rudolph Isley. The three older Isley brothers, Rudolph, O’Kelly and Ronald, formed a vocal trio (“The Isley Brothers”) and relocated to Teaneck, New Jersey. While temporarily living in New Jersey as a teenager, Chris and the two younger Isley brothers, Marvin and Ernie, formed a band, “The Jazzmen Trio”, that played locally in New Jersey. Chris played keyboards, Ernie played guitar and Marvin played the bass. Along with Chris, Ernie and Marvin also attended C.W. Post College in New York. While in college, Chris, Marvin and Ernie played on the older Isley Brothers recordings, including “It’s Your Thing”.

THE ISLEY BROTHERS YEARS
In 1973, Chris, Marvin and Ernie brought the songwriting and musical component to the older brothers vocal trio, making The Isley Brothers, a self-produced, self-contained six-member group. Their debut release as a 6-member band on their CBSassociated label was the 3+3 album. Chris was the primary songwriter, producer and arranger of The Isley Brothers music from 1973 (“3+3”) through 1983
(“Between the Sheets”). His arrangements and instrumentation as a classically-trained musician, and his expertise on the keyboards and synthesizers, have been credited as the foundation of the legendary “Isley Brothers Sound.” In 1984, the 6- member group disbanded due to internal problems.

ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY
In 1984, Chris, Marvin and Ernie formed Isley-Jasper-Isley, a self-produced, self-contained trio, with Chris as the lead singer of the group, as well as the primary songwriter, producer and arranger. Isley-Jasper-Isley recorded 3 albums on their CBSassociated label, and earned recognition with their #1 hit, “Caravan of Love”. “Caravan” was covered by English recording group, the Housemartins, who made the song an international #1 hit.

SOLO CAREER
In 1987, Isley-Jasper-Isley disbanded and Chris and Ernie embarked on solo careers. Chris formed his own record label, Gold City Records, and released two albums as a CBS-associated label. His debut single as a solo artist, “Superbad” reached #1 on the R&B charts. Eventually, Marvin and Ernie returned to record under the Isley Brothers group name, and Chris continued his solo career, releasing a total of 10 solo albums to date, including 4 urban contemporary gospel CDs. Chris has also produced a number of artists for his Gold City label, and has worked with such notable artists as Chaka Khan, writing and producing a song for her CK album (“Make It Last”). Chris’s music has been covered and sampled by numerous new and established recording artists, including Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Fantasia, Will Smith, Alliyah, Queen Latifah, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Natalie Cole, and the list goes on and on. The most recent addition to Gold City is Chris’s 21-year old son, Michael Jasper, who released his debut album “Addictive” on the Gold City label at the age of 16 in 2010. “Addictive” was written and recorded by Michael, and co-produced by Chris, who accompanies Michael on the talkbox and background vocals. Michael’s new CD “Dreams” will be a late 2014 release. Chris has received numerous gold and platinum albums and music industry awards, including the BET lifetime achievement award. In 1992, Chris, along with the other members of The Isley Brothers, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and in 2014 received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Chris lives in New York with his wife of 31 years, Margie, and his three sons, Christopher, Nicholas and Michael.

(Prince) Marvel:[Zambia]

Government name: Mandona James kasamanda

Date of Birth: 11th June, 1990

Marvel Started writing at the young age of 13, about 2 years after he started listening to hip hop. At that time his influences were mostly Eminem, Ja Rule, Nas, Jay Z and 2 Pac. As he heard more and wrote more throughout his high school years his passion for the art grew. His writing skills started to get him noticed as he posted notes of his poetry and rhymes on facebook. He began to host and participate in online battles and won one local particular online competition where he battled and stood out amongst a good number of prominent emcees. A few months after this, he submitted to all the pressure from fans and decided to give recording a chance.

His first studio recording, a cover of the well known fabolous single ‘breathe’ took the
underground rap scene by storm. Everyone who heard the song wondered who this 18 year old metaphor and punch-line kid was. That same song caught the ear of So Good Ent, Zambia’s most talent filled and fastest growing record label. Superman, the company C.E.O quickly proceeded to signing him and he began working on his first gift to the hip hop world which is his soon due mixtape ‘Just bars’. He was also inducted into the super group 2wo 1ne and shot a video called ‘Mwine Filimu’ which aired locally and can be seen on youtube. He later departed from 2wo 1ne and remained a solo act as he didn’t really fit their genre or style. So Good has groomed and guided him into becoming one of the most feared local English rappers the country has ever seen. Working with and receiving advice from talented peers such as Salma, Scarlet, 5ive 4our, Krytic and K Star has helped him a lot.

When he was not traveling with dance, he was spinning House music.  His talent is richly rooted in the raw sounds of rock, reggae, punk metal, soul, disco and hip-hop, all of which are major contributors to the House music sound so loved today. Tre’s unparalleled ability to flood dance floors laid the foundation for him to be graciously adopted into the 90hz.org family, where he has been delivering a weekly transmition of his customized sounds, THE DAMIT SHOW, for years.
An organic progression into music production was only a matter of time and a number of collaborations and original works are currently evolving. Today DJ TreDamit has several remixes under his belt including releases from Treehouse Muzique (San Francisco), Soul Magnifique (Chicago), and United Music Records. When admired by fans of his musical style, this man of modesty says, “I feel like I’m just beginning.” He aspires to become a relevant force in House music, honing his skills and sharing his gift with “house heads” around the world. He just might very well be at a nightclub near you soon – anywhere across the globe.

  Kimoohe:[South Africa]

A new upcoming artist who goes by the name of Kimoohe has reached the airwaves with his unique style of rapping fusing local slang with American ebonics. Before leaving for the States in '98, he has endured a brutal life of violence having to grow up in a bad neighborhood that is drug infested. Coming back home in 2006 he has refused to being a statistic of his environment in that saying Kimoohe has a dream to make a change in his community, he is now a founder of Fourth Rich Entertainment and as Kimoohe is also a very community oriented member volunteering into a lot of venues around his resident that he has even started a foundation called First Brick Clique a community service program that deals with inner-city children in government schools ages 9 to 16 giving guidance to them on making the right life choice decisions. With his organisation he has helped many of his colleagues around his township to reach their goals too as he has. He would like to come and perform for the young inmates in the correctional confined facilities, with the 2 tracks "Murder Capital" and "Cash Flow" which has skyrocketed this artist. The content of the tracks are self explanatory, in an adequate hindsight the artist is addressing young minds to rise and not to be proud of their ignorance of not caring about the future let alone the past.

Bibliography:
Started off in a group bases in Uptown Manhattan called the Young Tigers.
Not being signed alleviated him to take it serious spending his summer holidays writing his raps. (At 12 years old)throughout junior High school he used to go to open mic sessions, involving himself in mc battles taking this new culture as his own.
He started to set the bar high when he dropped his first underground mixtape which was called From Harlem 2 Durban (Kwa Mashu most wanted) in 2008 since then has been making underground noise with his singles of his mixtape one which we can all remember is "Swingin" from his second mixtape made in 2010 called kick Off. The track made him a phenomenal sensation depicting this upcoming rapper from one of the roughest neighborhoods in the Republic of South Africa had to bring to the rap game let alone the entertainment industry. Look out for more from this talented young man as he shoots up in the road stardom star soon to be born.
Look out for his mainstream mixtape that dropped Dec 16 titled Durban Legend..

 Lukie Luke:[South Africa]

I’m not the smartest, coolest, well-known guy but when I’m on stage that is what people perceive.

Thabo Luke Nyathi whom you guys may know as “Lukie Luke” taken from my second name is a youngling in his teens and the product of a black/African woman and coloured man formally known as “parents”.
Just like every artist, I too believe I have something of worth to offer to the public. My interests recline in the fields of music, drama, art, fashion, yes food, money of course, literature, spoken word and God’s creation.  These interests are what mould my musical craft. I’m what the masses may call a rapper, but to be quite frank, I don’t really like the term “rap or rapper” because it’s often associated with a lot of negativity and violence.
I’m just a kid with a dream and a pen, hoping to write my story on every heart. I possess what some may call poetic skills and they are evident in the house and hip-hop music I make. My number one inspiration would be God and all that he placed around me.

 Molovski (Ski-Boi):[South africa]

Douglas Molefe, known behind the mic as Molovski, is a rap artist from Pretoria who aims to do extraodinary things with his musical talent.
The 22 year-old storyteller who hails from Mamelodi (a township in Pretoria) and later migrated to the Pretoria Eastern suburb of Garsfontein, describes his talent as God-Given and goes further to quote fellow rap artist A.K.A. in saying "No plan B this is all I know".
"Ski-Boi", as he is affectionately known, started writting
raps at the tender age of 9, however, he only decided to take his talent seriously when he was introduced to Cyphas in his early high school days. He had been getting good critisism from his close friends for his rap skills, but it was the props that he received from his high school seniors as a junior that made him realize that his rapping ability was a gift, as he stood out amoungst the juniors.

The Pretoria representative is closely associated with the likes of Skhokho GP, Ndukuman, Kay Kay and Alpo whom he considers as his brothers and has worked on several projects with the fore-mentioned, including Lokal Celebz which is a rap group that he is a part of.
He is currently working on his highly anticipated "Monopoly Money" mixtape which is
scheduled to drop in Spring of 2012,and on it he is working with similarly talented beat-makers Charlie Charles and Mercedes, boasting Donje, Kay Kay and Celow as his sound engineers. He impresses his crowd with his story telling ability as opposed to the usual punchline
rapping and he draws his inspiration and ideas from music genres Kwaito, Bubble Gum Pop and Bacadi (an emerging genre that is dominating in his hometown).

His inspirations include Kapa Kapa, Brenda Fassie, Chicco Twala, Mandla Spikiri and American rappers Jay Z and Mos Def. Judging by his talent and determination, this young man
is a force to be reckoned with and he might just reach the flagship of South African music sooner than he expects. Molovski, remember the name and don't forget where you read about him first.
